What is Asthma?

Asthma can also be known as pediatric asthma, is a chronic inflammation of the bronchial tubes (airways) that causes difficulties in breathing. People who suffer from asthma have extra sensitive or hyper responsive airways. The airways react by swelling and narrowing when it becomes irritated. This makes it very difficult for the air to move in and out. The swelling and narrowing of the air way can cause one or a combination of the following symptoms:

  • Wheezing
  • Coughing
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Chest Tightness
